My name is Jan Hanak and I live in Slovakia. I work as an educator at the Faculty of Business Informatics of the University of Economics, which is situated in Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia. I lead programming courses concentrated on developing software applications using several programming paradigms, platforms, and languages, such as C, C++, and C#. I am also passionate developer, book writer, and technical consultant. So far, I’ve written almost 40 books, volumes, hands-on-labs (HOLs), and the other core materials dedicated to programming and developing of sequential and parallel programs. To name a few, my booklist contains for example the following pieces: Insights into Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 development (Microsoft Slovakia, 2012), Modern parallel programming (Vydavatelstvo EKONOM, 2011), Programming in Visual Basic 2010 (Computer Media, 2011), Software technologies on the Microsoft .NET 4.0 platform (Eurokodex, 2011), and the others. In 2010, I gained my Ph.D. title in the field of Business Informatics. My research, whose results were published in my dissertation thesis, put the stress on constructing the effective methodology for transforming the original sequential programs into parallel ones. From 2006 to 2012, I was elected as the Most Valuable Professional (MVP) with Visual Developer – Visual C++ competency.
