Professor, Consultant, Author, Trainer of Computer Science
Dr. Joe Hummel is an author, consultant and tenured professor of Computer Science, with a PhD from the U. of California, Irvine in the field of High Performance Computing. Joe has been teaching academically and professionally for over 20 years, and specializes in computer architecture, compilers, programming languages, and parallel processing. He has co-authored two books on Windows programming, developed curricular materials for Pluralsight and Microsoft, and is well-versed in both parallel hardware (multi-core, many-core, cluster, and cloud) and software (threads, C++11, OpenMP, PPL, TBB, TPL, MPI, and Hadoop). Joe is currently a research associate professor at UI-Chicago, as well as adjunct faculty at Loyola-Chicago, a member of the technical staff at Pluralsight, and a private consultant.
