Number of MVP Awards:
Consumer Security, Internet Explorer, Windows Expert-IT Pro
I have been a Microsoft MVP since 1999, specialising in Internet Explorer, and Consumer Security from the perspective of an Internet Explorer user. In late 2009 my primary MVP proficiency was changed from "Internet Explorer" to "Consumer Security: Training". I have been studying malware since 2000, and have watched its metamorphosis from simplistic, easy to remove adware into the sophisticated crime-motivated products we see today. My primary focus nowadays is "malvertizing" - what it is, how it works, who is behind it, and what end users, web site owners and advertising networks can do to avoid it. I am currently working with TRUSTe at the Trusted Download Program as the TDP Program Manager, Certification Specialist and Online Compliance Researcher. I love my work because TDP is dedicated to encouraging software developers and distributors to meet "best practice" when it comes to notice, choice and application behavior.
