Timothy Ford is the Founder, Cruise Director, and Lead Presenter aboard SQL Cruise. He is also the Co-Author of "Performance Tuning with Dynamic Management Views" with Louis Davidson and the Lead SQL Server DBA at Spectrum Health and well as Owner of B-Side Consulting, LLC. Timothy speaks at SQL Saturday and User Group events across the country and internationally. His SQL Cruises bring leaders in the field of SQL Server together with small groups of students for a week of training, professional development, and networking twice a year in the Caribbean and Alaska. See www.sqlcruise.com for details. He has been working with Microsoft SQL Server in the capacity of either a Developer/Analyst or Database Administrator since 1999. Tim is an author of SQL-centric technical articles for MSSQLTips.com, SQLServerCentral, and Simple-Talk.com. His favorite aspect of SQL is mining information from the system databases for monitoring metrics and Dynamic Management Objects. Timothy has been a volunteer leader within the Professional Association for SQL Server (PASS) since 2002 and presents their annual Virtual Chapter Quizbowl event at the opening reception at each year's annual Summit. He has also served as the leader of the West Michigan SQL Server Users Group. Timothy is a strong advocate for telecommuting, having done so in some capacity since 2000. He currently works out of his home office in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
