What do the Hollywood Bowl, Disney Concert Hall, The Neil Diamond Tour, and The Star Wars in Concert Tour all have in common? Their sound systems are all controlled with Windows Tablets.  And they all got their Tablets through Surface MVP Linda A. Epstein.
“I’ve been a big believer in this platform for more than a decade, and these kinds of venues draw attention and build excitement around the product,” said Linda. “We need to show people the value and flexibility of this technology.”
Linda, who began as a Windows MVP in 2001 and became a Windows Tablet MVP in 2002, is now one of the inaugural Surface MVPs. “I’m hoping I can introduce the Surface to some of these venues,” she said. “It’s a fabulous machine and they would love it.” 
And she should know. Providing accessible, easy to digest reviews and spreading the word is Linda’s forte.  Her website, www.tabletpc2.com, is one of the original tablet review sites and the first site to ever write about children and tablets.
“I’m not the most technical of the MVPs,” she explained.  And if I hadn’t had help from other MVPs along the way, I never would be doing what I am today.”  “I’m a people person.  I explain things so that the average person can make an informed decision.   
Sometimes, that includes simply going down to her neighborhood Best Buy and helping people—including occasionally the sales staff—understand the latest choices in devices. “People just want to know: Is it fast?  Does it have a good screen? How long does the battery last?  Is it the right tablet for me?  They need honest answers so they know what they’re buying.”   
“If people are happy,” she continued, “they’re going to tell three or four others.  If they’re unhappy, they’re going to tell ten or twelve. So it’s important to make sure new tablet users are happy and satisfied.”
Linda, who has attended a number of Microsoft launch events, including the recent Surface 2 event, is excited about her new role as a Surface MVP.
“When you have people who are so excited about a product and a product team that’s excited to work with us, we can make a real difference,” she observed. “One of my favorite things about being an MVP is the launch events. Knowing that over the last year or more, the feedback you provided has in some small way contributed to bringing that product to life is being a part of the future.
