Microsoft IT pro audience marketing manager for Australia, Pat Stanton, is new to his role and “learning everywhere” he can—and the MVP Community Camp was a great place to start.
Microsoft’s IT pro audience marketing manager for Australia, Pat Stanton, jumped into his new role by recently helping the MVP community present MVP Community Camp events throughout the country.
“This was my first engagement with MVPs and it was a great introduction,” said Pat. “It’s obvious they’ve earned the MVP status for a reason. They’re highly knowledgeable and, for this event, they picked their own topics. I helped them with the logistics and to get the word out about the event.”
A focus of Pat’s work is to help manage campaigns with Microsoft technical evangelists to foster adoption of Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure among IT professionals. The recent MVP Community Camp (ComCamp) week was a six-day event featuring live webcasts and in-person seminars across Asia Pacific, focusing on themes such as application development, enterprise management and SMB solutions for the Microsoft Cloud OS.
Pat came to his new position after serving two years as an intern with the Microsoft Higher Education Account team. Pat himself only recently left the ranks of higher education, graduating around this time last year with a degree in business from the University of Technology in Sydney.
“IT pros are everywhere in every organization, so I’m excited to see where I can take this program in the next few years,” explained Pat. “I’d like to work with MVPs wherever I can because they add great credibility and value.”
