PJ Naughter

PJ runs Naughter Software Ltd, a software development consultancy firm, specializing in native mode Windows development. 
Before Naughter Software, PJ was the technical architect and a software developer working for Soft-ex Communications, 
a developer of PBX Call Monitoring software located in Dublin, Ireland. He joined Soft-ex after graduating with a B.Sc 
in Electronic Engineering from Dublin City University in 1993. Having lived in Dublin since college, PJ now lives in 
rural County Wexford where he grew up and which is 60 miles south of Dublin.

In his spare time, he runs a popular web site (, which provides open source and shareware of interest 
to Windows developers. At last count, well over 230,000 lines of Win32, MFC & ATL C++ source code is available to 
download. Areas covered include: Calendrical Calculations, Image Processing, GPS, various GUI widgets, Version Detection, 
PC Ports and various Internet protocols including POP3, SMTP, MIME, ICMP, SNTP, HTTP, SSL, Finger, CDDB and FTP. One of 
the most popular downloads available is a wrapper for writing NT Services in C++. He has the honor of having this software
control some of the experiments in the MSG (Microgravity Science Glovebox) onboard the International Space Station. Outside
of computers, he also has a keen interest in Astronomy, and Pub Quizzes, which he attends regularly in the local area. He also
plays 10-pin bowling, and the odd game of golf with the local Golf society.
