I've been a database developer by profession since 1998, working with Access throughout.
Graduating from Newcastle University in 1997 with a Masters in Mathematics I left behind the love of paper and pencil and finally learned how to check my email.
Before long the transformation was underway and the maths started to look like Greek.
It was Access in particular, and databases in general, which truly ignited my love of IT, and inspired me to learn and dedicate myself.

I was employed developing software primarily for the legal sector during the formative years of my career.
I've been self employed operating as "Database Development" since 2003.
I'm still developing primarily with Access (2003/2010) against Jet / SQL Server for legal applications as well as continuing to enjoy working for a diverse range of different company types. Determining a business' needs is as much a skill as any area of development.

Though originally from Northumberland I live in South Yorkshire and operate throughout the north of England.
I enjoy thinking about what hobbies I might like to have again when I find the time.
