I have been working with SQL Server since 1997 and became a DBA for Bryan Cave LLP in 2002. I worked there until 2010 when I joined Microsoft. Eventually, I headed back to the world of consulting. After four years of editing Simple-Talk (https://www.red-gate.com/simple-talk/), the online technical journal, I'm now a Customer Success Engineer for Redgate Software. I love writing and have written, contributed to, or tech edited over a dozen books. I also enjoy speaking and teaching. I travel to as many SQL Saturdays as possible and speak at user groups. I write for Apress and create courses for PluralSight. If you have heard about SQL Karaoke, you can blame me for getting this started with three other friends back in 2006. There is a lot of fun in the SQL community and Karaoke is part of it.
