Tom Urtis, Microsoft Excel expert and owner of Atlas Programming.

Biography

Tom Urtis is a Microsoft Office developer, programmer, trainer, and author, with over 35 years of experience in business management, and over 25 years of developing spreadsheet and database projects in Microsoft Office for business of all types.

Tom founded Atlas Programming Management in 2000 (tomurtis.com), a San Francisco-based Microsoft Office business solutions company specializing in Excel that provides consulting, development, training, and support of fully customized projects for a diverse international clientele.

Tom is an Excel instructor, and received his first Most Valuable Professional award for Excel from Microsoft in 2008.

In 2015, Tom authored the Second Edition of his Excel VBA 24-Hour Trainer book, a unique, 500-page book & video package that has been updated with fifteen new advanced video lessons, providing a total of eleven hours of video training, 45 total lessons, and 76 downloadable example files to teach the basics and beyond. This self-paced tutorial explains Excel VBA from the ground up, demonstrating with each advancing lesson how you can increase your productivity. Clear, concise, step-by-step instructions are combined with illustrations, code examples, and downloadable workbooks to give you a practical, in-depth learning experience and results that apply to real-world scenarios. The package also includes a syllabus tutorial for high school, college, and vocational educators who use my book in their curriculum for students' instruction.

Tom is co-author of "Don't Fear The Spreadsheet", and co-author of "Holy Macro! It's 2,500 Excel VBA Examples". Tom is a technical editor and consultant for Excel books and training material, and an active contributor to Excel forums.

In 2020, Tom introduced his highly anticipated Excel Aptitude Test (XAT®) at xat.tomurtis.com. XAT is a unique, groundbreaking platform test skills and aptitude for Microsoft Excel and any other Office or software application.
