Biography

Mariano hails from The Archipelago of San Andres, Providencia, and Santa Catalina, located in the Caribbean Sea of Colombia, where English Creole is the primary language. From an early age, Mariano showed inclination to the world of computers and wrote his first Basic program on a Commodore 64 when he was in high school, at the age of 14. Although Electronic Engineering was his first call, he quickly made Computer Science his passion.

Over 25 years of traveling across the world helping companies realize their potential has given Mariano a unique perspective on the use of technology to solve complex business problems while elevating the human potential. 

Mariano's work with the Microsoft technical communities led to his MVP award in 2008. Since, he has written hundreds of blog articles, created hundreds of hours of video content, and delivered numerous presentations at world events like the Microsoft Business Applications Summit, User Groups Summit, Power Platform Online Conference, Power Platform World Tour, Scottish Summit, BizApps LATAM Summit, DynamicsCon, and Microsoft Convergence, among many others.

Now, Mariano is a Chief Technology Officer at Mekorma Enterprises, Inc. (www.mekorma.com), a Microsoft Dynamics independent software vendor where he continues to educate employees, customers, and partners on the values and benefits of Microsoft Power Platform technologies.

Mariano holds an MIS/Technology Administration from University of Phoenix, he is a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), and a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP). He holds a BS. in Systems Engineering from Universidad Antonio Narino in Bogota, Colombia.
