Jonathan Matthew Kehayias

United States

Jonathan Kehayias is a MCITP Database Administrator and Developer, who got started in SQL Server in 2004 as a database developer and report writer in the natural gas industry. After spending two and a half years working in TSQL, in late 2006, he transitioned to the role of SQL Database Administrator. He has experience in upgrading and consolidating SQL environments, in some cases reducing the number of servers by two-thirds or more, and has experience in running SQL Server in Virtual Environments on VMWare ESX 3.5+. His primary passion is performance tuning, where he frequently rewrites queries for better performance and performs in depth analysis of index implementation and usage.

His current projects include venturing into public speaking at events local to Tampa, and building to help bridge some of the gap for CLR integration in SQL for those new to its use. One of the goals is to help DBA’s and Developers identify where it is best to implement CLR over TSQL for common problems, while drawing contributions from the community at large. He is also a member of the Tampa SQL Users Group.

Outside of the SQL Server world, Jonathan is married with one daughter, and is a Drill Sergeant with C Co 2/485th Inf Regt in the Army Reserves. He graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in History. When he is not working in SQL, or consulting in C#, he can often be found at the playground, beach, or pool with his daughter.
