Joel has focused his career on Dynamics 365 FO, with experience ranging from a customer implementation to consultant to project manager to architect to product development to BI and reporting.
Joel has worked since 2002 on Dynamics 365 and AX through a number of different versions. Joel started his career at Keystone RV, working on a customer implementation for then "Axapta 2.5". He was responsible during the implementation for Data Migration activities and setting up the Product Builder module. In a Finance manager role, he later focused on user training and reporting out of the system. Joel then went on to do Dynamics 365 consulting, project management, solution architecture, and occasionally development for ten years. He primarily did work in the professional services industry, with forays into manufacturing as well. During his time as a consultant, Joel started writing interactive manuals for the iPad to make AX 2012 easier for new users to learn. Much of the content from these books is still available on his website and YouTube. With the introduction of Task Guides in Dynamics 365, interactive manuals were no longer a necessity. Joel focused his community involvement since Dynamics 365 came out on public presentations, as there has been a lot quickly changing information for the Dynamics community to navigate. He tries to do recurring community webinars such as "What's New..." in the latest version. He also blogs about various topics both on his company's blog and on his personal blog. And he's never shy to share his thoughts and opinions with the Product Groups at Microsoft. Joel's current role is the Director of BI and Products at SAGlobal. In this role his focus is on navigating, explaining, and implementing the latest technological improvements for Dynamics 365 customers.
