Mentoring new and seasoned developers on practical development lessons and ideas
Chris has been developing applications on the Windows platform for twenty years. With a career that has spanned the "full stack", Chris has developed software as varied as dazzling kiosk applications for guests at the most popular theme parks in the world to web based commercial loan analytics tools. Today, Chris is focusing on the future of ASP.NET in the .NET Core stack and investigating both the enterprise tools we all know (such as Visual Studio) and new techniques and tools that are new to the Microsoft community (Linux, functional programming, and platform-as-a-service cloud features). Chris also is a co-founder of Philly GameWorks, a game developers group devoted to helping anyone make their first game. Making your own games is a driver for many young people to enter to software field and there has never been a better time to learn how to get started. Each year Chris helps create the technical curriculum for the We Connect The Dots International Back-To-School Codeathon, a weekend long event where middle and high school students learn to create their first web application. He also personally mentors the Darby, PA site for the Codeathon.
