At the age of 18, Ashlee had no interest in IT and simply wanted to go to university and spend time with her cats. Instead, she was encouraged to learn Microsoft PowerApps. Despite having no prior experience in IT and suffering from social anxiety/depression, she found a passion for technology and quickly gained recognition from Microsoft by winning their “Fidget Spinner” app challenge. From this, she progressed into developing the “Universal Audit App” with her father, which streamlined auditing processes across multiple industries. At 20, Ashlee was one of the youngest people to have been awarded a Microsoft MVP, and now runs hackathons and classes worldwide in the hopes of empowering other women and young people with her story.
