Biography

Billy is an internationally known expert on user experience design and native Microsoft technologies, including The Universal Windows Platform for Windows 10 and WPF. He was co-author of the first book ever published on Visual Basic .NET, as well as many other .NET books and articles. He was selected by Microsoft to teach all 200 instructors for the first .NET Developer Tour. He has presented at major conferences on software development all over the world, including TechEd, PDC, VSLive, DevConnections, and the Microsoft Patterns and Practices Architect Summit. He and his team in Nashville, Tennessee focus on designing great user experiences and developing modern apps. 

Billy has been a Microsoft Regional Director since 1998, and was Regional Director of the Year for 2001. He was also named in 2002 as a "Software Legend" by Microsoft.

Billy has his own consulting practice in Nashville, TN named Next Version Systems. He and his team focus on designing innovative user experiences, advanced UI development with WPF and the Universal Windows Platform, .NET architecture, healthcare-oriented software, and development of commercial software packages.
