Each year, we look forward to connecting with our MVP and Regional Director (RD) communities at the MVP Global Summit and RD Summit for the exclusive in-depth technical discussions and feedback sessions across the Microsoft Redmond campus.   Microsoft has been closely monitoring the developing global situation with regards to the COVID-19 virus. We have been reviewing the guidance provided by government agencies and international organizations on a continuous basis. The health and safety of our Microsoft MVPs and Regional Directors (RDs), as well as our partners, suppliers and employees is our top priority.  In light of recent developments globally and the growing concerns around the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Microsoft has made the decision that this year’s MVP/ Regional Director Summit will be an online-only / virtual event. It will be scheduled for the same week (Mar 16-19). Our entire team is working hard to plan and prepare an alternate experience that still provides the exclusive in-depth technical sessions in an online-only format and be inclusive to our globally distributed community. We will share additional information with you very soon and appreciate your patience as we work through the changes. For the time being, we would like to address a few questions you might have concerning this change.

Question: Do I need to cancel my event registration online?

Answer: If you would still like to attend the event in a virtual capacity, please do not cancel your registration. We will provide additional directive around virtual participation with you soon. Contact MVPSummit@microsoft.regsvc.com with questions regarding your registration.

Question: I previously did not register to attend the Summit. Do I need to register now for any virtual sessions you may host? Answer: We will provide specific instructions regarding registration for the virtual event shortly.

Question: When will you share dates for the 2021 MVP Global Summit?

Answer: With the unknowns around global travel and COVID-19, we will not be releasing future MVP Global Summit dates at this time.

Question: For those in time zones outside of Redmond (PST), how will you be supporting MVPs for this virtual event?

Answer: We are working to create a globally inclusive set of virtual sessions that can include different time zones.

Question: Do I need to cancel my hotel reservation with the Summit Registration team and/or with the Hotel?

Answer: If you created your reservation via the official Hotel page of your event registration, the answer is no. If you created a reservation outside of the official registration system, yes, you will need to cancel your reservation with the hotel directly. Contact MVPSummit@microsoft.regsvc.com with questions regarding your hotel reservation.
