Bringing people together, through gaming and music.
Marques has held the Microsoft MVP award since 2008, when it was originally given for the Zune platform. When Zune rolled into Xbox Music, in 2012, Marques became an Xbox MVP, where he has remained since. A lifelong music aficionado, and former professional trombonist, Marques enjoys diving into how music (both composed and licensed) enhances the gaming experience. He also, on occasion, discovers a cool song or two through his gaming adventures. He, also, offers a unique perspective on the current climate of music services and how they affect artists and listeners, alike. He jots down all of these these musings and more on twitter: @tromboneforhire Marques is also a contributor to the Digital Media Zone, a site that covers the way users consume digital media. Marques shares his thoughts on music through a weekly segment "Music Minute", as part of the Entertainment 2.0 podcast. Digital Media Zone can be read at http://www.thedigitalmediazone.com/. Past Projects: Throughout his time as MVP, Marques helped grow and lead communities through various initiatives, including "Inside the Circle" a Zune-centered blog and "Consumer Camp" an education initiative combining the passion of consumer-focused MVPs with the space and resources of Microsoft store locations. Marques also helmed a project called "Xbox Beat", which dived into various topics related to Xbox, but also welcomed conversations around the general topics of gaming, music, and technology.
