Living in Germany, born 1952 in Heidelberg (Germany) his first contact with programming was 1977 (COBOL, FORTRAN and IBM 360 Assembler at that time) and he ever since stayed with IT. He started MS Access and VB developing with MS Access 1.1. To stay "current" with business needs, he 2003 started learning  .NET languages. His MVP award did help him a lot in his job as freelancer and Senior Consultant. His comment: "Thank you Microsoft for regular (re)awarding me since 1997, i´ll do my very best to earn it again." 

That was true till 2006. Now i'm "just" a reconnected MVP as i was not reawarded after 2005 . Stilll doing mainly consulting for MS Office (database) with strong focus on MS SQL Server
